Dr. Riza Sarioglu

Dr. Rıza Sarıoğlu, a pediatrician, has lived in the United States most of his life. After retiring, he decided to give back to Türkiye, specifically to Sabancı University. But, he was not sure how to do it. Sabancı University, a TPF partner organization, reached out to TPF for guidance on how Dr. Sarıoğlu could donate his real estate to them. Through a bargain sale, TPF purchased the house from Dr. Sarıoğlu. Dr. Sarıoğlu received tax deductions for the appraised value of the house and Turkish Philanthropy Funds handled all the administrative paperwork of the sale. TPF owned the property until it was sold, at which point the funds transferred to the Sabancı University as a grant.
